The sleepy little town of Wallowa offers county living at its best. Although the business section of town is only a few blocks long, you will usually find it bustling with activity. Much of the local resident’s entertainment is centered around the local High School Cougars team; hunting and fishing is a close second.
Wallowa is located in a fertile green valley with winding streams, offering lush forage for cattle, horses and the abundant wildlife.
Good sized ranches are able to raise excellent crops of hay and alfalfa.
As you head north out of Wallowa Valley you will enter an area of beautifully timbered ranches, which are ideal for tree farms. Many parcels have pretty, spring fed ponds.
If you enjoy privacy and seclusion for your families vacations, this area is a perfect get-away spot.
